RESEARCH
Portland Posture Clinic’s ongoing U.S. posture research explores how geography, movement culture, public recreation investment, youth sports, school facilities, and daily activity may influence postural adaptability across states. The project began with a 2025 cross-country research trip and combines field observations with state-level public data and custom indices. Early findings suggest that movement-supportive environments correlate with posture more consistently than spending alone, while states such as Utah, Vermont, and New Hampshire outperform their formal infrastructure investment. Results remain exploratory, not causal. Continued analysis and in-person observation across all 50 states are needed to test these hypotheses and refine patterns. Report and data below:
